About PDF Page Numbers
This PDF page numbering tool uses pdf-lib to add page number markers to every page locally in your browser. It supports 6 positions, font size (8-24pt), number format (Arabic, Roman, letters, or custom prefix like Page X of Y), and starting page number. Page numbers are overlaid as text objects without modifying original content. The tool auto-counts total pages and supports skipping cover pages.

FAQ
Can it skip the cover page?
Yes. You can set a starting page so the first few pages have no numbers, starting from a specified page, ideal for cover and table of contents.
What page number formats are supported?
Arabic (1 2 3), Roman (i ii iii), letters (a b c), and custom prefix formats (e.g. Page 1 of 10).
Can the position be customized?
Yes. Six positions are supported: bottom-center, bottom-left, bottom-right, top-center, top-left, and top-right.
Does it modify the original PDF content?
No. Page numbers are overlaid as text objects on the content stream without modifying or overwriting any original page content.
Are files uploaded?
No. All page numbering runs locally via pdf-lib; files never leave your device, safe for sensitive documents.
