FAQ

Why is 0°C not 0K?

Kelvin is an absolute scale where 0K is absolute zero, about −273.15°C. So 0°C equals 273.15K; the two have different zero points and cannot be equated directly.

Why are there trailing decimals?

Conversion uses non-integer factors like ×9/5, so results keep about 4 decimals for precision while stripping needless trailing zeros for a cleaner display.

Can I enter negative Kelvin?

You can type it, but below 0K does not exist physically. The tool will not error and will still convert, so judge for yourself whether the value is meaningful.

At what temperature do Fahrenheit and Celsius match?
