The same phone number can appear with a country code, parenthesized area code, spaces, or hyphens — it needs normalizing before storage or dialing. This tool parses phone numbers locally in your browser, detecting the country/region and line type and outputting standard forms like E.164 (e.g., +14155552671), national, and international formats. It helps clean contact data and validate input, and numbers never leave your browser. Tip: Bookmark this tool for quick access during network troubleshooting. All queries are made directly from your browser — no command-line tools required.

FAQ
What is E.164 format?
E.164 is the ITU standard for international numbers: a plus sign, the country code, then the subscriber number with no separators, up to 15 digits (e.g., +14155552671). It is the recommended form for storing and exchanging numbers between systems.
Can it parse a number without a country code?
Yes, but you must supply a default country/region so the tool can prepend the correct country code and judge validity; the same digits mean different things in different countries.
Can it tell if a number actually exists?
No. Parsing only checks whether the number matches that country's numbering plan (length, prefix); it cannot confirm the number is assigned or currently reachable.
How does it tell mobile from landline?
It infers line type from prefix rules (mobile, fixed, toll-free, etc.), but in countries with number portability the inferred type may not be fully accurate.
Why do national and international formats differ?
National format adds a trunk 0 and local separators; international format drops the leading 0 and adds the country code. Use the international format when dialing from abroad.
Any browser compatibility requirements?
This tool works in all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). No plugins or extensions required.
Can I use it offline?
After initial load, most features work offline. The core logic runs entirely in your browser with no network dependency.
